ART IN COMMUNITY

Square

My passion for art goes beyond the design studio. As an arts education advocate, I have been dedicated to strengthening communities, and developed programs that inspire students to find their voice through art.

In 2010, I developed Art Outreach in Culver City Unified School District elementary schools where no prior school-wide visual arts program existed. In addition to providing classes taught by local artists and organizing community arts days, this program fundraised for credentialed art teachers and quality art supplies in every classroom.

In 2015, I co-created Planting Wonder, a K-5 enrichment program serving students, parents and educators in low income/high poverty communities of Los Angeles. This program offered school-year and summer enrichment in art, literacy, and STEM.

The Planting Wonder enrichment program has been transformational in evoking creativity and caring at our school
